Engineering and Scientific Work

· Environmental and Processing Engineering design

· Environmental Testing.

· PLC and HMI programming.

· Development of Piping and Instrumentation Drawings

· Development of Process Flow Diagrams.

· Develop Operational and Maintenance documentation.

· Process and Chemical Engineering procedural development.

· Pump and pipe modelling and design.

· Practical building of wastewater treatment equipment.

· Monitoring and servicing wastewater treatment equipment.

· Hands on service, maintenance of water treatment equipment.

· Calibration of Analytical Equipment.

· Plant performance reporting.

· Development of technical documentation (ie. management plans, policies, and procedures for Clients).

· Laboratory and pilot scale testing.

· Preparing and executing environmental approvals.

· Environmental Modelling.

· Accurate record keeping as per Alpha Concepts Policy and Procedure.

· General Project Work.

· Learn as much as you can from more senior Engineers to develop yourself into a valuable team member.

Other

· Work hands-on in other roles within the organisation in busy times and during staff shortages.

· Perform other duties as requested by your supervisor from time to time.

· Be willing to keep technical skills current through attending seminars and training as required by management.

· Be involved in weekend coverage and callout.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential (must have or be able to quickly obtain)





· Bachelor level Engineering Qualification in a Chemical / Environmental / related engineering field of study (recognized in Australia).

· High commitment to WH&S; practices and focus on eliminating and minimizing hazards.

· Sound administrative skills to ensure correct documentation is supplied to Alpha Concepts in an accurate and timely manner.

· Physical strength and ability to work in awkward positions.

· Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

· Willingness to work physically on site (i.e. testing, inspecting, assisting with minor maintenance, dosing).

· Current valid C-class open drivers’ license and willingness to drive long distances to remote client worksites .

· Ability to pass Client worksite Medical Examinations;

· Ability to easily lift 25 kilograms safely without assistance (i.e. chemical drum);

· Ability to perform regular bending, stretching, twisting whilst carrying 25 kilograms;

· Working in confined or limited space;

· Ability to stand or sit all day (depending on the task);

· Ability to move and operate plant and equipment safely without injury to yourself or others.

· Ability and willingness to comply with government Health Directives/ Mandates (ie. Covid-19 vaccinations, mask wearing).





· Ability to work away from Gladstone for a period of two to six days on a monthly basis.

· Willingness to undertake a drug and alcohol test at any time during your employment (to ensure safety).

· Flexibility in relation to work hours and travel.

· Professional Report Writing Skills

· Willingness to undertake any job-related training your manager deems appropriate

· Ability to work in a high-paced, customer service environment;

· Ability to receive constructive feedback objectively;

· Ability to work in a small close-knit Team environment;

· Ability to work alone with minimal supervision;

· Ability to work with strict time frames;

· Very organised, neat and tidy always;

· Willing to be accountable for the outcomes of your work and how it affects other team members and clients.

· Ability to be adaptable to an ever-changing technical and organisational environment.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

· Current advanced First Aid and CPR certification.

· Continued Professional and Personal Development in the fields of Process Engineering, Water and Wastewater treatment.

· (if Engineer: member of Engineers Australia or similar professional engineering body)

· Construction industry White or Blue card.

REMUNERATION

Remuneration will be market value dependent upon the successful applicants’ experience.
