About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join the team at Joeys Pre-School & Early Learning Centre in Metford, NSW. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in nurturing and educating young children during their formative years. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will be instrumental in creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment that supports the development and wellbeing of each child in your care. Your work will directly impact children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth during these critical early years.

What you'll be doing

- Planning and implementing educational activities and experiences that promote learning and development across all developmental domains

- Creating and maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and discovery

- Building strong relationships with children and families, supporting each child's individual needs and learning styles

- Observing and assessing children's development and progress, using this information to tailor teaching strategies and support

- Communicating regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, achievements and areas for development

- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistency in approach and to share best practices in early childhood education

- Supporting children's emotional regulation and social skills development through guidance and positive behaviour support

- Following health, safety and hygiene protocols to ensure the wellbeing of all children in your care

- Contributing to a positive and inclusive centre culture that values diversity and inclusion





- Participating in professional development and maintaining current knowledge of early childhood education practices and research

What we're looking for

- A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (such as a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education)

- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) and evidence of a valid Australian Driver's Licence

- Current First Aid and CPR certification relevant to early childhood settings

- Demonstrated experience working with children in an early childhood education or care setting

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

- Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development

- Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and ability to implement play-based learning approaches

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cooperative team

- Commitment to maintaining professional standards and engaging in ongoing professional development

- Experience with children from diverse backgrounds and an understanding of inclusive practice is highly valued
