About the position

Council’s Community Services and Support Department is looking for a motivated and reliable part-time Kitchen Assistant to join our dedicated Meals on Wheels Team. Our Meals on Wheels service proudly prepares and delivers fresh, nutritious daily meals for vulnerable residents of the municipality, helping them maintain their independence and continue living safely at home.

The main responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with the preparation of high-quality, nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements and funding guidelines;
- Maintaining a high standard of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with funding guidelines and food safety regulations; and
- Assisting with the preparation and packing of meals for delivery routes.

This is a part-time role 16.5 hours per week across three days. Shifts are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday commencing at 6:00am each day.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience working in a high-volume food production kitchen or similar facility;
- A positive team-oriented approach and the ability to contribute to a collaborative workplace culture;




- The ability to assist with the instruction and engagement of volunteers;
- Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification;
- Supervisors Food Handling Certificate; and
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence.

This position is a Band 2A currently remunerated at $66,896.84 per annum (paid pro rata).
