About the Role

The Head of Area - Primary, is a key middle leadership position responsible for the educational leadership, management and continuous improvement of a defined area within the Primary School. As a member of the Primary Middle Leadership Team, the Head of Area provides day-to-day line management and leadership of staff, promotes excellence in teaching and learning, supports student wellbeing, and drives consistent implementation of the College priorities across their area.

- Can inspire, mentor and support teachers and Education Assistants to foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Has a proven ability to lead change, drive continuous improvement and implement strategic priorities within a school setting.
- Values strong partnerships with students, families,



staff and the wider College community.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications

- Bachelor of Education or recognised teaching qualification, with preference given to applicants holding an Early Childhood qualification.
- Current Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) registration.

Experience

- Experience leading curriculum, pedagogy and school improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching practice.
- Experience mentoring, coaching and developing staff.
- Experience analysing student achievement, engagement and wellbeing data to inform decision-making and improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and build positive relationships with staff, students and families.

Essential Criteria

- A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
- Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
- Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents.




- Commitment to personal best practice.
- Ensure decisions are impartial, fact-based, and fair.
- Model appropriate and proper channels of communication.
- Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
- Adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
- Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment in line with the College’s values and policies.

Possession of the following certifications:

- National Police Clearance.
- Working with Children Check.
- First Aid Certificate.
