Your opportunity
Join the Faculty of Health, where WIL is central to preparing the next generation of health professionals through quality placement experiences and strong industry partnerships. As Team Leader, WIL, you'll lead an experienced team responsible for coordinating placements across multiple health disciplines during an exciting period of operational improvement and system change. Acting as the key escalation point for complex placement matters, you'll guide informed decision-making and drive improvements that enhance the experience for students, staff and industry partners.
You will make an impact by:
- Leading, mentoring and supporting a large team of WIL Coordinators, ensuring high-quality service delivery across multiple disciplines.
- Providing sound judgement and practical solutions for complex placement matters while supporting your team through challenging issues.
- Building trusted relationships with academic staff, University stakeholders and external placement partners to achieve successful placement outcomes.
- Leading operational improvements through data insights, technology enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting the implementation of a current placement management system and championing positive change across the WIL team.
What you will bring
You're an experienced leader who enjoys developing high-performing teams and creating practical solutions to complex operational challenges. You bring recent experience in higher education and are confident making informed decisions, building stakeholder relationships and leading teams.
To succeed in this role, you will also need:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience in placement coordination, student administration or a related field
- Demonstrated success leading and supervising teams within a complex operational setting
- Proven ability to manage complex and escalated placement issues, exercising sound judgement, interpreting guidelines and policy, and determining or recommending appropriate resolutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build collaborative relationships
- Recent experience working within a higher education environment and with University systems, or experience supporting system implementations and business improvement initiatives will be highly regarded

Your opportunity is:
- Full-time, fixed term (12 months)
- Located at Gold Coast, QLD 4225, with consideration for Lismore or Coffs Harbour location options for the right candidate.
- HEW Level 7. The base salary ranges from $108,361 – $117,660 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $137,662.
