For over 30 years, people have trusted us to help put their lives back together, and we’re looking for a Restoration Technician to join our team.

We’re looking for someone with experience in restoration, remediation, cleaning, construction or a related industry, however, experience is advantageous rather than essential. We’re also willing to consider candidates with the right attitude, work ethic and aptitude who are looking to build a career in the restoration industry.

At Westaway, you’ll work alongside an experienced and supportive team, gaining exposure to a wide range of restoration and disaster recovery projects. We also support ongoing professional development, including IICRC industry certifications.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are the same. You’ll work across residential, commercial and insurance restoration projects, helping clients get their properties and lives back on track.

- Carry out water extraction, structural drying, fire and smoke restoration, mould remediation and related restoration works

- Assist with assessing damage and implementing appropriate restoration techniques

- Operate restoration and drying equipment safely and effectively

- Complete restoration works to a high skilled standard

- Communicate with clients, insurers, builders and other stakeholders professionally and respectfully

- Maintain accurate job documentation, photographs and reports

- Work effectively as part of a team while developing the ability to work independently

- Participate in on-call rosters, including overtime and some weekend work as required

- Maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety, quality and customer service

- Undertake ongoing industry training and development, including IICRC formal restoration training

About You

Experience is advantageous, but we’re open to the right candidate.





If you have previous experience in restoration, remediation, cleaning, construction, building or a related trade, that’s a strong advantage.

However, if you don’t have industry experience but have the right attitude, work ethic, reliability and willingness to learn, we’re prepared to provide training and support to help you develop the skills required for the role.

You’ll need:

- Experience in restoration, remediation, cleaning, construction, building or a related industry (advantageous but not essential)

- A strong work ethic and positive, can-do attitude

- Good communication skills and a professional, respectful manner

- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn

- A current Australian driver’s licence

- The ability to pass police and drug & alcohol checks and obtain/hold a Blue & White Card as required

- A willingness to participate in overtime and on-call work when required

IICRC qualifications and previous restoration experience will be highly regarded, particularly in Water Restoration (WRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD), Fire & Smoke Restoration (FSRT) or Applied Microbial Remediation (AMRT).
