They are a leader across hospitality, entertainment, accommodation, fitness, and professional sport. About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Group Manager, Data & Technology to bridge the gap between high-level business strategy and modern enterprise technical execution. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer, you will lead and redefine the enterprise data and technology capability, growing the function to a strategic, revenue-driving business enabler.
This is a highly visible, senior management role where you will lead a capable team of specialists across BI, business applications, technology operations, and project delivery. You will be tasked with translating complex technology and AI concepts to non-technical business leaders, establishing structure in a dynamic environment, building out a single 360-degree customer view, and ensuring cyber resilience and governance across a multi-site portfolio. If you thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy bringing strategic vision all the way down to practical operational execution, this role is for you.
Responsibilities & Experience Required
Core Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute a practical enterprise technology and data roadmap that directly supports group revenue, operational efficiency, and data-informed decision-making.
- Project Delivery & Governance: Establish structured project management practices,
delivery frameworks, and clear prioritization to successfully execute cross-functional technology and data initiatives across the Group.
- Data, AI & CRM Enablement: Unlock value across disparate systems to build a single customer view. Harness enterprise data and deploy practical AI/data solutions to drive top-line revenue and member engagement.
- Modern Architecture & Systems: Oversee a diverse technical ecosystem, including the Microsoft ecosystem, a proprietary data lake, Salesforce CRM, POS, and venue management systems, ensuring seamless integration and high adoption. Provide ongoing assessment and advice on best practices for tooling and architecture.
- Cybersecurity, Risk & Sovereignty: Strengthen cybersecurity, access controls, business continuity, disaster recovery, and privacy frameworks across a highly regulated environment.
- Stakeholder & Executive Alignment: Act as the strategic translator between technical teams and non-technical business leaders (venue, hotel, and gym managers); bring executive stakeholders on the journey with explicit, objective advice.
- Vendor & Budget Discipline: Commercially manage technology budgets, licensing, contracts, and strategic partners (including a managed service provider) with high accountability.
- Team Leadership & Capability: Provide strategic direction, governance, and project structure to an existing, talented technical team spanning BI, Salesforce development, POS,
and systems support.
Experience & Skills Needed
- Proven Track Record: 10+ years of broad experience across technology and data, with proven experience in senior technical leadership and people management.
- Data & AI Experience: Hands-on track record of actually deploying data or AI solutions that delivered measurable business outcomes in a production enterprise environment.
- Enterprise Systems & CRM: Deep understanding of enterprise architectures, integrations, data lakes, and CRM platforms (Salesforce experience highly regarded but experience across other ERP/CRM systems acceptable).
- Governance & Security Maturity: Solid grounding in cybersecurity, privacy regulations, data stewardship, and technology governance within complex or regulated sectors.
- Commercial & Stakeholder Acumen: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to manage up, articulate commercial value, listen to operational stakeholders, and challenge constructively with justification.
- Delivery Focus: Comfortable operating in ambiguity, possessing the agility to set structure in a fast-paced business while remaining willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.
- Education & Credentials: Tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline are highly regarded. Relevant certifications and project management experience are a plus.
