The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an Auto Electrician to join our Plant Fitters team at the Kenwick Intermodal Terminal.
The Role
The primary purpose of the Auto Electrician is to ensure Arc Infrastructure’s plant, equipment, vehicles, trucks, machinery, and rolling stock are electrically sound, safe, and available for maintenance and project teams.
The role achieves this by:
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical, electronic, and air conditioning (A/C) systems across all fleet and plant assets.
- Installing communications gear and specialized auto-electrical accessories.
- Traveling to regional sites to perform on-field diagnostics, maintenance, and emergency electrical repairs on vehicles, machinery, trucks, and rolling stock.
- Maintaining and keeping the allocated tool-of-trade vehicle clean, organised, and fully operational.
- Monitoring the electrical reliability and utilization of plant and equipment.
- Minor mechanical repairs and assisting Plant Fitters when required.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology
- Relevant licence for handling A/C refrigerants (e.g. ARCtick licence / Refrigerant Handling Licence)
- 5years + experience in repair and maintenance of medium to large plant through to small tools
- Qualified as a Fitter
- Experience in lone working and remote/regional field repairs
- Experience in an operating rail environment (desirable)
