Disability Support Worker – SIL & Complex Supports

At Interchange Shoalhaven, we believe people should be able to live a life that reflects who they are—not simply what services are available.

We support children, young people and adults across the Shoalhaven in their homes, in the community and through Supported Independent Living (SIL). As our services grow, we’re looking for reliable Support Workers who want to build strong relationships, develop their skills and do work they can genuinely be proud of.

You may already have solid disability experience, or you may be building a long-term career in the sector. Either way, you’ll understand that great support comes from being present, paying attention and getting the everyday things right.

We’re not looking for perfect. We’re looking for people who want to do this work properly.

The Role

No two days are exactly the same. Depending on the person you are supporting, your work may include:

- supporting people at home, in the community and in SIL settings

- personal care and daily living support

- community access, appointments and transport

- social participation and building everyday skills

- medication assistance

- implementing behaviour support strategies

- working within shared-support and team environments

- following individual routines, plans and communication approaches

- completing clear and accurate shift notes and incident reports.

Some positions involve more complex support needs, including delegated supports, specific mealtime requirements, epilepsy management and behaviour support plans. Training and competency assessment will be provided where required.

We need people with availability across mornings, days, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and active overnight shifts. Broader availability will open up more opportunities for regular work.

Experience in disability, care, community services, youth work or a similar setting is valued. We will also consider applicants with a strong foundation and a genuine commitment to building a career in disability support.

Highly regarded

Experience or competency in any of the following will be highly regarded:

- medication assistance

- behaviour support

- epilepsy management

- PEG feeding or other delegated supports

- SIL or shared-support environments.

Requirements

You will need:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check

- NSW Working with Children Check

- current First Aid and CPR

- current NSW Driver Licence

- access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle.
