Male Disability Support Worker – Complex Behaviour Support

Casual | Ad-hoc & Short-Notice Shifts | Meaningful, Active Support

Looking for a support role where your experience really matters?

We are seeking an experienced male Disability Support Worker who is confident supporting people with autism and behaviours of concern and can bring a calm, positive and safety-focused approach to every shift.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys building trust, supporting meaningful activities and helping someone feel protected, regulated and engaged.

What you'll be doing
Providing calm, consistent and person-centred support
Following Behaviour Support Plans and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies
Supporting emotional regulation and responding appropriately to behaviours of concern
Promoting safety and recognising early signs of escalation
Supporting community access, exercise and recreational activities
Encouraging engagement through preferred interests such as playing drums, keyboard and music
Maintaining transparent communication and skilled shift documentation

We’re looking for someone who




Has demonstrated experience supporting autism and behaviours of concern
Is calm under pressure, patient and emotionally resilient
Understands behaviour support and de-escalation
Can confidently follow established support strategies
Can assist with activities of daily living e.g. meal preparation, personal care, light house cleaning.
Is active, energetic and comfortable with community-based activities
Has a genuine interest in music, including drums or keyboard
Is reliable and available for ad-hoc and short-notice shifts
Works well independently and as part of a support team

Certificate III/IV in Disability, Individual Support or a related qualification is preferred.
