Senior Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical Engineer

We’re looking for a senior professional who can bridge the gap between design consultants and project delivery, providing technical guidance, problem‑solving, and oversight without being hands‑on in the design work. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading energy organisation that’s evolving how it delivers engineering projects, reducing duplicated effort and empowering design consultants to take ownership of their work.

About the Role

In this key role, you’ll act as the technical backbone across multiple projects, guiding and supporting external design consultants, reviewing design intent, and ensuring practical, fit‑for‑purpose solutions.

You’ll bring a structured approach, excellent communication skills, and an “owner’s engineer” mindset – someone who sees the bigger picture and keeps projects moving forward.

Key Responsibilities:
Support and collaborate with design consultants to achieve high‑quality, efficient design outcomes.
Provide technical oversight, problem‑solving, and engineering judgement to drive project delivery.




Identify and resolve interface issues between design, procurement, and site execution.
Contribute to continuous improvement by helping refine recent ways of working across engineering teams.

What you’ll bring:
10–20 years of experience in Instrumentation, Electrical, and Controls Engineering.
Solid experience in supporting or leading engineering projects from an “owner’s engineer” perspective.
Background in consulting or client‑side engineering highly regarded.
RPEQ certification preferred (or a explicit plan to obtain it).
Proven ability to work collaboratively with consultants and contractors to resolve technical issues.
Proactive, solutions‑focused, and driven to deliver results.
