Amazing opportunity has just opened up for a 1st or 2nd year Apprentice Chef at Geonbae Korean BBQ in Hastings.

We are on the hunt for a passionate, reliable and energetic person to join our team and start their culinary journey with us.

Key Duties:
Assist with the preparation and cooking of high-quality food in accordance with recipes, menu specifications and food safety standards.
Learn and develop practical cookery skills under the guidance of experienced chefs across a variety of kitchen sections.
Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning, ensuring consistency and quality.
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen, adhering to all food safety, HACCP and workplace health and safety requirements.
Assist with receiving, storing and rotating stock to minimise waste and maintain product freshness.
Support the kitchen team during service by ensuring food is prepared and presented efficiently and to a high standard.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly while following all workplace procedures and instructions.
Demonstrate a positive attitude,



willingness to learn and commitment to completing a recognised commercial cookery apprenticeship while contributing to a collaborative team workplace.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience:
A genuine passion for food, cooking and developing a career in the hospitality industry.
Enrolled in, or willing to undertake, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent apprenticeship qualification).
Solid work ethic with a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and the ability to follow instructions and accept feedback.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.

The successful applicant will become part of an inclusive supportive working team. Being trained in Korean Cuisine whilst also formal training in traditional cooking making for a well rounded qualified chef in the future.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
