The Role
This is a growth role to take on a leading role within the legal team to drive the rail and transport business. You will report into the General Counsel and work closely with senior lawyers across the team nationally.
You will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice on construction and infrastructure projects, with a focus on rail and transport more broadly.
You will regularly negotiate, draft and review major project documentation including:
EPC, D&C; and alliancing agreements;
Consultancy agreements and supply contracts;
Interface and access agreements;
Advise on procurement strategies, tender processes and contract structuring;
Support project teams on risk identification and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle;
Work closely with internal stakeholders including commercial, engineering and project delivery teams; and
Engage and manage external counsel where required.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have at least 12 years’ PQE gained in a top-tier or mid-tier firm and ideally spent some time in-house. You will be trained in construction and major projects and have exposure to transport and rail transactions. Ideally you will have contractor side experience, but someone with deep transport experience from principal side will also be considered.
You will be a solid communicator with a commercial approach. You will be comfortable dealing with robust stakeholders and operating in a fast-paced setting.
