MK Restaurant Cafe and Bar is seeking a skilled and experienced Cook/Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking quality meals while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and kitchen safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and established standards.
Assist with menu preparation, daily food preparation and kitchen operations.
Prepare and portion ingredients including meat, vegetables, sauces and other food items.
Ensure dishes are prepared consistently, efficiently and to a high standard.
Monitor the quality, freshness and presentation of food throughout preparation and service.
Maintain appropriate food storage and handling practices in accordance with food safety requirements.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, utensils and equipment.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, receiving and storing food supplies.
Minimise food wastage through effective preparation and portion control.




Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and timely service.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a safe working workplace.

Skills and Experience
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience as a Cook/Chef in a commercial kitchen.
Relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent practical experience is desirable.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen workplace.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent food quality and presentation.
