Are you an aspiring Event Manager, Arts Administrator, or Community Builder looking for a high-impact, portfolio-building leadership role?
Highbury Community Learning and Wellbeing Inc. is seeking 1–2 passionate Volunteer Event Managers to lead and execute our Children Mid-Autumn Festival Music Concert.
Our vision is to bring local families and neighbours together for a warm, delightful, and relaxing spring afternoon filled with beautiful music, celebrating cultural connection and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
What We Provide (Full Resources & Support):
Venue Secured: St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Canterbury (equipped with a grand piano, ideal for soloists, ensembles, and orchestras).
Funding & Material Coverage: Venue hire, equipment, printing, participation certificates, mooncakes, and light refreshments are fully covered.
100% Resource Backing: Whatever tools, templates, or extra support you need to run this event successfully, just let us know—we will do everything we can to provide them!
VIP Engagement: Opening remarks will be delivered by a local Member of Parliament (MP).
Unrivalled Hands-on Event Management Experience:
This is not an admin-only role—you will take true ownership of a live public event! You will gain end-to-end experience in:

Event Marketing & Community Engagement: Managing promotional campaigns to attract community audience members.
Stage & Production Management: (Optional) Designing the event run-sheet, coordinating backstage logistics, managing VIPs, and running the live show on event day.
What You’ll Gain:
Real-World Event Leadership: A fully Council-backed project to showcase on your CV or portfolio.
Formal Recommendation: An official Reference Letter and LinkedIn endorsement from an incorporated NPO upon completion.
Networking Prospects: Direct engagement with MPs, local school department heads, and community leaders.
Requirements:
Passion for event coordination, music, or community engagement.
Robust communication and organizational skills.
A valid Working with Children Check for volunteers (or willingness to apply for a free Volunteer WWCC).
