Auscon Metals The Technician and Trades Worker /Plant & Equipment Maintenance Technician plays critical operational role within the recycling facility at Auscon Metals Pty Ltd. The position combines mechanical and electrical maintenance support, heavy mobile plant servicing, industrial equipment upkeep.

The role directly contributes to equipment reliability, production continuity, workplace safety and the commercial performance of the non-ferrous department.

responsibilities Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Support Provides hands on assistance to qualified mechanical tradespersons in the preventative and corrective maintenance of mechanically operated heavy mobile plant, including skip trucks, forklifts, excavators, material handlers and associated industrial machinery.
Mechanical assistance during fault diagnosis, repair and commissioning of mechanical systems.
Testing electrical components including wiring systems, sensors, switches, relays and control circuits.
Replacing electrical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures.
Supporting maintenance of battery charging systems, lighting circuits, warning devices, electrical and mechanical accessories and safety systems fitted to heavy equipment.
Participating in scheduled maintenance programs to maximise equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Maintaining detailed maintenance records and reporting defects requiring corrective action.
