A major bank is seeking an OpenShift Engineer for an initial 12 month contract likely to extend.
The team is supporting a major containerised deployment project, with a significant workload being onboarded onto the OpenShift platform.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the OpenShift container platform, including cluster installation, configuration, upgrades, and ongoing administration.
Support a major containerised deployment project, including the onboarding and migration of a large workload into OpenShift.
Automate platform and operational tasks using Ansible, GitOps, scripting, and other automation technologies.
Work closely with project and application teams to facilitate the deployment and onboarding of containerised workloads onto the OpenShift platform.
Monitor cluster health, performance, capacity, and availability to ensure the platform can support increasing workloads.
Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling.
Contribute to the stability, scalability,
security, and performance of the OpenShift setting as workloads increase.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience as an OpenShift Administrator, OpenShift Engineer, or in a similar role.
Hands-on experience with OpenShift deployment, administration, and application onboarding.
Experience supporting large-scale containerised deployments or workload migrations is highly desirable.
Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and containerisation technologies, including Docker.
Experience with GitOps
Experience with Ansible or similar automation tools.
Ability to work effectively with application, infrastructure, and project teams during large-scale deployments.
Relevant certifications, such as Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, are a plus.
