This is a hands on site leadership role covering everything from toolbox talks to quality control.
Our client is a Melbourne based builder working across custom homes, commercial fit outs, extensions and renovations. They cover both residential and commercial work, giving the successful candidate variety across project types rather than a single narrow lane.
About the Role
You run the site day to day, from OHS management and toolbox meetings through to quality control and close out reporting. This covers direct supervision of all site activities, coordinating and communicating with trades and contractors, and keeping site set up, set out and logistics on track. You work closely with the project manager and estimator, and will be the main point of contact for anyone on site.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure and manage OHS activities across the site
Organise and run toolbox meetings and briefings with labour and contractors on daily scopes and tasks
Manage micro-scheduling and trade communication, including calling, confirming and following through on all site activities
Provide direct supervision and support across all site activities
Manage procurement from the site's perspective
Prepare and manage site setup, including signage, first-aid kits, cameras and hoardings
Carry out site set-out for building and partition work as per plan
Manage materials storage, logistics and cleaning on site
Check completed work and report against industry and company standards
Keep a daily diary on all site activities, with regular photo and video updates
Monitor performance across the site team
About You
2+ years of experience of Site Supervisor/Manager experience in construction
Background across residential or commercial projects
Relevant safety and operator training (assumption, not supplied in brief)
Comfortable running OHS, toolbox meetings and direct site supervision without close oversight
Confident coordinating trades, contractors and procurement from site
Solid reporting habits, including photo and video updates as part of daily diaries
Conversational to qualified Mandarin alongside English
