About Our Client A small, growing business with a lean finance function that reports directly to the CFO. The business operates in a niche area of financial services. Genuine scope to own processes rather than just execute them, in an setting where one person's work is directly visible.
Responsibilities
General ledger management, including regular journalling to maintain accurate financial data for internal and external reporting
Month end close, including monthly journalling, accruals and reconciliations
Assisting with monthly management reporting, budgeting and forecasting
Managing accounts payable and receivable functions,
including employee expenses and payroll
Overseeing daily cash flow and assisting with cash flow forecasting
Managing periodic direct and indirect tax reporting, including income tax, GST, FBT and payroll tax
Liaising with external stakeholders such as auditors, suppliers, the ATO and ASIC, as well as internal stakeholders
Assisting with documentation of processes, policies and technical accounting position papers
Supporting process improvement and identifying cost savings
Additional ad hoc duties as required by the CFO
Requirements
CA or CPA qualified, or close to completion
Prior audit background highly regarded
Demonstrated experience owning month end close and AU tax reporting
Comfortable working across the full function, from transactional to technical
