Your current company An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Design Manager to join a well-established developer delivering a landmark mixed-use project on the Gold Coast. Working client-side, you will take ownership of the design process from feasibility through to construction, ensuring innovative, commercially sound and buildable outcomes are achieved.
Lead and manage the design process across all project phases.
Coordinate and manage external consultants, ensuring deliverables meet project objectives.
Drive design quality, buildability, cost control and programme outcomes.
Manage design coordination during construction and resolve in office design issues.
Oversee the preparation and assessment of design and construction tender packages.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, consultants and contractors to maintain project alignment.
Ensure compliance with relevant planning, regulatory and building requirements.
Review and optimise designs to balance commercial, aesthetic and construction objectives.

What you'll need to succeed




10+ years' experience in Architecture, Design Management or a related discipline.
Previous client-side or developer-side experience on large-scale projects.
Proven ability to manage design through construction and resolve complex design issues.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, design documentation and consultant management.
Experience assessing design and construction tenders.
Sound understanding of relevant building codes, planning requirements and industry standards.
Proficiency reviewing technical drawings and design documentation.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
