Bush Fire Brigade volunteers play
a significant role in helping to keep their local communities safe. Members are
trained and equipped to respond to bushfire incidents, support prevention
initiatives and work alongside other emergency services when required.

Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to bushfire prevention, preparedness
and response activities
Support the brigade in operational and
non-operational duties
Maintain a strong focus on safety and teamwork
Represent the brigade professionally within the
community
Key Tasks:
Respond to bush and scrub fire incidents when
available
Undertake local fire prevention activities and
hazard reduction support
Assist with community education and engagement
initiatives
Regularly attend brigade meetings and training
sessions
Inspect and maintain brigade equipment and
facilities
Support other emergency service agencies as
required

Training occurs every second Monday from 5:30pm for approximately 2 hours. Meetings occur once a month.
Participation in additional brigade events as required.
Respond to emergency call outs where operationally available
Training
Basic training courses are required before attending incidents, specialised courses are also available. Regular attendance at training and skill development is an ongoing requirement for this role, with all training provided at no cost to you.
