Job DescriptionWe're looking for an experienced Development Compliance team leader to deliver fair, consistent and timely planning and building compliance services across the regionYou'll lead a team of four Development Compliance & Support Officers, overseeing investigations, regulatory responses and enforcement activities.
You'll provide high-level technical advice, manage complex matters, and ensure our compliance functions run smoothly, professionally and in line with legislation.This role also plays a key part in shaping how we improve - contributing to strategic planning, refining processes, and strengthening collaboration across internal teams and external agencies.What your day will look likeLead and support the Development Compliance team to deliver consistent, timely and legislatively compliant servicesProvide expert advice on planning, building and regulatory compliance to staff, stakeholders and the communityOversee and conduct complex investigations, prepare statutory notices and legal documentation, and manage evidence for enforcementDevelop, review and implement policies, procedures and education programs that lift compliance capability and community awarenessManage projects, programs and service delivery activities, including financial and performance requirementsAbout the EmployerAt Fraser Coast Regional Council our people are our most important asset and central to achieving our purpose of Building Better Communities Together.About the CandidateProven experience in a senior government regulatory role with responsibility for leading compliance,



enforcement and investigation functions aligned to key responsibilities and performance outcomes.Demonstrated experience conducting high-level investigations and undertaking enforcement action for breaches of planning and building legislation, local laws and broader compliance requirements.Demonstrated capability in planning, financial management, project management and problem solving.Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and support staff in planning and building investigative functions.Ability to build effective work teams and foster open communication, engaging internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational goals.Valid class C or CA driver licence (provisional or open) to drive a vehicle in Queensland.General Construction Induction (White Card).
Nice to haveBachelor's degree (AQF Level 7 or above) in a discipline relevant to compliance, enforcement or investigations.We understand that not all candidates will meet every selection criterion.
