We are looking for an experienced and passionate Room Leader to join our team at Sebastopol & Hertford Park.

THE ROOM LEADER ROLE
As a Room Leader, you will play an important role in creating a high-quality learning environment while supporting and leading the educators within your room.
You will be responsible for ensuring your room operates with strong educational practice, effective teamwork and a consistent focus on children's safety, wellbeing, learning and development.
In this role, you will:
• Lead and support your room team to deliver high-quality educational programs and experiences.
• Build robust, respectful relationships with children, families and educators.
• Take responsibility for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the educational program.
• Ensure children's learning and development is documented meaningfully and reflects the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
• Lead your team in creating engaging, inclusive and intentional learning environments.
• Mentor and support educators to strengthen their practice and confidence.




• Promote a positive and collaborative team culture within your room.
• Ensure the room operates in line with the National Quality Standard (NQS), Education and Care Services National Regulations and centre policies and procedures.
• Support educators to reflect on their practice and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Build strong partnerships with families and communicate openly about children's learning, development and wellbeing.
• Ensure children's individual needs, interests, strengths and abilities are recognised and incorporated into the program.
• Support inclusion and work collaboratively with families, specialists and the broader leadership team where required.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, supervision and child protection.
• Take ownership and accountability for the overall quality and presentation of your room.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR A ROOM LEADER WHO:
• Is passionate about early childhood education and making a genuine difference in children's lives.
• Has experience leading a room or is ready to take the next step into a Room Leader position.
• Is confident in leading, mentoring and supporting a team of educators.
• Has strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and Education and Care Services National Regulations.
• Can develop and implement a meaningful, child-centred educational program.
• Builds strong and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Is confident communicating with families and addressing matters professionally.
• Leads by example and demonstrates professionalism, reliability and accountability.
• Is committed to reflective practice and continuous improvement.
• Creates safe, nurturing, inclusive and engaging learning environments.
• Is organised, proactive and able to take ownership of their responsibilities.
• Wants to grow professionally and contribute to the broader centre culture.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
• Child Protection and National Child Safety Training.
• Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain.
• Previous experience in an early childhood setting.
• Demonstrated understanding of the EYLF, NQS and relevant legislation and regulations.
