The Role
We're looking for an R&D; Engineer to join our product development team and help design, build and test Lubdub's cardiac health devices.
This is a hands-on,
high-ownership role for an early-career engineer who wants to build a career in medical device development, working closely with the Head of Product and cross-functional teams across all product lines.
Key Responsibilities
Design and DevelopmentSupport the design, prototyping and iteration of hardware and/or software components across Lubdub's product lines, from early concepts through to marketed device.
Testing and VerificationHelp plan and run engineering tests, bench testing and verification activities, and document results accurately to support design control and robust quality processes.
Documentation and Design ControlMaintain clear technical documentation - design specifications, test records, engineering drawings and change logs - in line with Lubdub's Quality Management System.
Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with product, quality, clinical and regulatory colleagues to ensure development activities are well-documented, traceable and aligned with project goals.
Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting Investigate and resolve technical issues that arise during development and testing, escalating appropriately and proposing practical solutions.
Continuous Improvement Contribute ideas for improving processes, tools and product performance as Lubdub's products move toward regulatory clearance and manufacturing.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:A degree in biomedical engineering, engineering, quality management, life sciences or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceStrong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate recordsExcellent written communication and document preparation skillsStrong organisational and time management capabilitiesAbility to manage multiple tasks and follow activities through to completionConfidence working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teamsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new quality and document management systems
Desirable:Exposure to medical device development, embedded systems, signal processing, CAD or PCB design toolsFamiliarity with regulated development environments (e.g. ISO *****)Experience within a start-up, scale-up or product development environmentFamiliarity with medical device design controls, risk management or technical documentationExperience within a start-up, scale-up or product development workplace
