Job Description
Steppe Construction The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structural and finishing timber components across residential and commercial building projects.
The role requires strong technical skills, the ability to interpret plans, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Work locations may vary depending on project requirements, and the role may involve working across different construction sites as directed by the employer.
Benefits Full-time employment Steady work Task & responsibilities The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of formwork carpentry, including but not limited to: Building, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures such as foundations, walls, columns, beams, and slabs Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications Setting out, aligning, bracing, and levelling formwork to meet engineering and safety standards Cutting, shaping, and assembling timber, plywood, and other materials for formwork systems Safely stripping formwork while maintaining the integrity of concrete structures Measuring and marking materials accurately using appropriate tools Installing temporary supports, structures,



and safety barriers as required Operating hand tools, power tools, and equipment in a protected and efficient manner Maintaining and repairing formwork systems and timber components Complying with WHS requirements, building codes, and company procedures Qualification & experience Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Formwork Carpenter or in a similar role Certificate III in Carpentry or related trade (preferred but not essential) Sound knowledge of timber, conventional, or modular formwork systems Ability to read and follow construction drawings and instructions Competency with carpentry tools and construction equipment White Card (mandatory) Strong work ethic, reliability, and a safety-focused attitude About Company Steppe Construction Pty Ltd is an Australian private construction company specialising in formwork carpentry, reinforcement installation, and structural support works.
