Perth Healthcare Centre | East Perth & West Perth
Part-Time | $26–$35 per hour
Please read the availability and experience requirements before applying.
Perth Healthcare Centre is a busy, established multidisciplinary healthcare clinic operating across East Perth and West Perth.
We believe excellent healthcare is about more than what happens in the treatment room.
Our practitioners provide the clinical expertise, but the patient experience starts and finishes at reception.
The way a patient is welcomed, communicated with and looked after matters.
So does the support we provide to our practitioners and to each other.
We are looking for an
experienced healthcare receptionist
who understands that responsibility and takes genuine pride in doing the job well.
This is not an entry-level reception role.
We need someone who can step into a busy clinic environment, confidently use Cliniko, build relationships with our regular patients and practitioners, and become a reliable part of our team.
Before You Apply: Our Non-Negotiables
To be considered for this position, you must:
Have previous medical or allied health reception experience
Have
hands-on Cliniko experience

Be available
Friday mornings
Have some availability for
weekend morning shifts

Weekend shifts are occasional and are generally
four-hour morning shifts only
, with
applicable weekend penalty rates
.
We are looking for someone who can commit to a consistent roster.
For this reason, the position is unlikely to suit applicants whose availability regularly changes due to university or study timetables.
The Role
Reception at Perth Healthcare Centre is much more than answering phones and booking appointments.
You will be the first person many of our patients see when they arrive and the last person they interact with before they leave.
You will work closely with practitioners,
fellow administrators and management to make sure the clinic runs smoothly and patients feel genuinely looked after.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming and checking in patients
Managing appointments and patient schedules through Cliniko
Answering phones and managing patient enquiries
Processing payments, HICAPS and relevant claims
Managing referrals, forms and patient documentation
Supporting practitioners with day-to-day clinic requirements
Monitoring clinic communications and completing allocated tasks
Maintaining a clean, professional and welcoming reception and clinic environment
Assisting with opening and closing procedures
Scanning, filing and maintaining accurate patient records
Helping the wider team keep the clinic running efficiently, particularly during busy periods
Who We Are Looking For
We care about experience, but we care just as much about how you work.
You will suit PHC if you are someone who:
Is genuinely reliable and consistent
Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told every little thing
Notices what is happening around them and steps in when needed
Communicates clearly and professionally
Is warm and personable with patients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
Remains calm when reception gets busy
Can prioritise and move between tasks without losing attention to detail
Builds good working relationships with practitioners and fellow administrators
Understands that small details can have a big impact on a patient's experience
Takes pride in the presentation of themselves, the reception area and the clinic
Values teamwork and understands that no one works in isolation
You don't need to be the loudest person in the room.
You do need to be
dependable, switched on, approachable and comfortable taking responsibility.
Essential Experience
Previous medical or allied health reception experience
Previous Cliniko experience is essential
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Confident and professional phone manner
Experience managing appointments, payments and patient enquiries
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Teams
Ability to follow established systems and procedures accurately
Experience with HICAPS, Medicare, DVA, Workers Compensation or private health claiming will be highly regarded.
The PHC Way
Perth Healthcare Centre brings together chiropractic, physiotherapy, remedial massage, psychology and other allied health services across two locations.
We don't expect reception to practise healthcare, and we don't expect practitioners to run reception.
We do expect everyone to understand that we contribute to the same patient experience.
For us, a great clinic combines
clinical excellence with exceptional service, communication and care.
Our patients should feel welcomed, remembered and supported.
Our practitioners should feel supported to do their best work.
And our team should know they can rely on one another.
That's the standard we're building across PHC.
What We Offer
A consistent part time roster
A busy and varied healthcare environment
A supportive and experienced administration team
Staff discounts across clinic services
Exposure to a broad range of allied health professions
Training in PHC systems and procedures
Opportunity for additional responsibilities and career progression for the right person
Weekend penalty rates for applicable weekend shifts
We have high standards, but we also believe people do their best work when expectations are clear, communication is respectful and everyone understands
why
their role matters.
If you're an experienced healthcare receptionist looking for a workplace where your contribution genuinely matters, we'd love to hear from you.
