Spectran Traffic Management is growing, and we are seeking Traffic Controllers to join our busy team.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Traffic Controllers to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and maintain safety across all industries.
As a Traffic Controller, you will be responsible for directing and managing vehicular and pedestrian traffic, implementing traffic control plans, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to make quick decisions, and a strong commitment to public safety.
Responsibilities
Operate Stop/Slow bats, signage, and hand signals to safely direct traffic and pedestrians
Complete site checks and monitor behavior and traffic flow to ensure safety is maintained at all times
Direct and control traffic at intersections, construction sites, civil works and events
Implement and follow traffic control plans, ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety standards
Communicate clearly with drivers, pedestrians, clients, and co‐workers
Monitor and adjust traffic control measures to maintain safety and minimise congestion
Identify hazards and report safety concerns promptly
Maintain accurate records of traffic control activities and equipment




Work effectively with emergency services and other stakeholders when required
Keep up to date with traffic control regulations, industry best practice, and new technologies
The ideal candidate
Has the physical stamina to work on their feet and in varying weather conditions
Is versatile and able to work days, nights, and weekends as required
Possesses solid knowledge of traffic control standards and equipment
Demonstrates strong communication skills and a proactive safety-first mindset
Can apply risk management and problem‐solving skills on site
Holds a manual driver's license (desirable)
Is confident using apps and digital tools on a smartphone or tablet
Qualifications
Required:
RIISS***** – Traffic Controller – Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TC1)
RIISS***** – Traffic Management Implementer – Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TMI1)
Preferred:
RIISS***** – Traffic Controller Skill Set for High Volume Roads (TC2)
RIISS***** – Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for High Volume Roads (TMI2)
Other accepted credentials:
Valid driver's licence
White Card (Construction)
Pre‐**** traffic qualifications (Control Traffic with Stop/Slow Bat & Implement Traffic Management Plan) will be considered
