Strategy and Performance Accountability partners collaboratively with all business areas to deliver agency‐wide strategic priorities ensuring a unified evidence-informed approach.
We provide strategic insight and lead the agency in upholding corporate, legislative, and social obligations, and support business areas to do the same through capability building and guidance.
In addition to our internal partners, we work closely with key stakeholders, portfolio statutory authorities and across government to deliver shared outcomes.
About the role
We are seeking an exceptional assurance leader to join CITS as
Director Audit.
This highly influential role provides independent and objective advice to the Director General, Corporate Executive, CITS and Tourism WA Audit and Risk Committees and Tourism WA Board to strengthen governance, risk management and internal controls.
The role provides strategic leadership in the development and delivery of risk-based internal audit programs aligned to organisational objectives and enterprise risks.
The position ensures compliance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, while fostering a culture of integrity, transparency, and excellence.
Key responsibilities
Lead the planning and delivery of a contemporary, risk-based internal audit program aligned with organisational priorities, enterprise risks and skilled standards.
Provide expert leadership on governance, risk management, internal controls and continuous improvement to support informed decision-making and organisational effectiveness.
Lead and develop a high-performing audit team while building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Office of the Auditor General.
We have
one permanent, full time (75hrs p/f)
position available.
Essential requirement
- Current membership of a recognised professional body in accordance with Treasurer's Instruction 10, including at least one of the following: Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Professional Membership (PMIIA) or Certified Internal Auditor, or CPA Australia,



or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ)
