Field Service Technician, Perth
About Spectur
Spectur is a fast growing Australian tech company that builds and operates solar powered surveillance, safety and warning systems.
Our gear works across government, construction, utilities, councils and remote industry, anywhere that needs eyes on site but doesn't have mains power or a phone line handy.
Solar, batteries, cameras, mobile data, cloud platform and AI, all bolted together to keep working when nobody's around to babysit it.
We're growing our WA team and looking for a Field Service Technician based in Perth, working alongside our experienced local tech on installs, servicing and support across metro Perth and regional WA.
Warehouse is based in Jandakot.
No tech background?
Read on anyway.
You don't need a surveillance or solar résumé to get this job.
If you've worked on the tools, you're fit, reliable, and don't run from a problem just because you don't immediately know the answer, we'll teach you the rest.
If you already know your way around 12V systems, IP cameras or off grid power, great, you'll ramp up even faster.
If not, that's what our senior tech is there for.
The job
Looks like CCTV from the outside.
Is actually a job about power, comms, weather and stubbornness.
One day you're commissioning a new system on a construction site, the next you're standing in a paddock trying to figure out why a camera's gone dark: flat battery, weak solar, dead modem, a knocked antenna, or a customer who "didn't touch anything."
You'll need to think on your feet and fix it on the spot, with the rest of the team a phone call away.
What you'll be doing
Installing, commissioning, relocating and removing solar powered camera and sensor systems
Diagnosing faults across the whole stack: cameras, DC power, batteries, solar charging, modems,

SIMs, antennas and main boards
Firmware and configuration work, camera alignment and image quality checks
Site prep including digging, setting concrete footings, and installing or removing poles
Cleaning and servicing gear in harsh, coastal and remote WA conditions
Liaising with site contacts, contractors and customers professionally
Completing job documentation, safety checks and service reports
Supporting the Jandakot warehouse and logistics team with gear prep, stock and SIM swaps
What we're offering
Attractive salary plus super - Experience dependant
Fully maintained company vehicle
Laptop provided, plus phone allowance
A seat in a national, growing, genuinely supportive service team
Real ownership of your own patch, plus proper ongoing training across solar, comms and surveillance
Hands on mentoring from an experienced Perth tech
About you
Hands on, proactive, and happy working outdoors in most weather
Comfortable troubleshooting solo on site, backed up by a team on the phone
Physically fit with real experience on tools: construction, trades, labouring, service, whatever got your hands dirty
Solid on secure work practices, and doesn't mind doing the paperwork properly
Wants to build a skillset and a career
Essential
Open driver's licence (C class)
Construction White Card
Police Check (last 6 months)
Willingness to travel across metro Perth and regional WA, with occasional interstate work
Preferred, or willing to get
Security Installer Licence
EWP or Working at Heights ticket
Experience with CCTV, solar or off grid power, DC systems, batteries, or IP and mobile networking
If you like a job where every day looks different, and you'd rather be fixing a solar rig in the middle of nowhere than sitting behind a desk, apply today.
