Administrator, Shopfront Support
Permanent, Part-time – 10 hours per week.
Work Pattern: Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The Shopfront is a not-for-profit drop-in and resource centre serving people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage.
As an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth, The Shopfront is dedicated to providing practical support, connection, and dignity to those in need.
About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and practical Administrator, Shopfront Support to assist the Director in the day-to-day operations of the service.
This diverse role combines administration, community support, volunteer coordination, and hands-on involvement in our daily lunch program.
Reporting to the Director, you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of The Shopfront, taking a proactive role in coordinating services and supporting operational continuity, including during periods when the Director is absent.
About you
You are a community-minded individual who is passionate about supporting vulnerable members of the community.
You enjoy a varied role, can work independently, and build positive relationships with volunteers, service providers, and visitors alike.
To be successful, you will ideally bring:
Experience in social welfare, community services, or a related field
Experience in food handling and preparation
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
The ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and external service providers
The ability to remain calm and work efficiently under pressure
A willingness and capacity to support the Catholic ethos




Strong judgement, professionalism, and respect for personal boundaries
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the daily operation of The Shopfront lunch program, including food preparation and purchasing
Work collaboratively with volunteers to deliver services effectively
Ensure emergency food relief store is tidy and well ordered
Support visitors by providing assistance and connecting them with appropriate services
Liaise with other community organisations and service providers
Maintain petty cash and assist with basic administrative functions
Assist the Director to ensure Work Health and Safety standards are maintained
Coordinate site general maintenance tasks, organise repairs and replacements of assets
Ensure all expenditure remains within the budget as supplied by the Director.
Support community events and special functions as required
The successful applicant will be required to provide:
Valid National Police Clearance
Valid WA Working with Children Check
Proof of right to work in Australia
