The Rehabilitation Ward has a diverse caseload and operates as a stand-alone 22-bed unit specialising in:StrokeAcquired Brain InjuryNeurological Disorders Lower Limb Amputations General DebilityGeriatric AssessmentSpinal and Orthopaedic RehabilitationThe unit provides care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to patients aged 16 years and over.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of experienced Rehabilitation and Geriatric specialists, where staff are valued and supported to enhance their skills and knowledge through ongoing education.Key responsibilities include:Delivering individualised patient care in line with care plansUndertaking hourly rounding using HAIDET, ISBAR and patient care boardsMaintaining timely, accurate documentation that aligns with policy and legal requirementsSupporting patients with daily activities and rehabilitation goalsYou will be supported in your role by the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Leaders and the Education Team, and will receive a comprehensive orientation to both the unit and the facility.Where you'll be workingTamworth is the heart of the New England North West of NSW, with a vibrant population of over 55,000 people.
The city offers excellent connectivity, including an airport with daily flights to Sydney and Brisbane, as well as a daily train service to and from Sydney.
