About Us
Piddington's Armidale has been serving the Armidale community for over 120 years, priding themselves on their compassionate and caring services as Funeral Directors.

About the role
As part of the Piddington's team, the Apprentice Horticulturist will play an important role in maintaining and enhancing our memorial gardens and outdoor spaces.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and is looking to build a long-term career in horticulture.
You will gain hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification and learning from experienced industry professionals.
Working alongside our team, you will develop practical skills across all aspects of horticulture while contributing to the presentation and upkeep of our beautiful grounds in Armidale.
Key responsibilities
· Garden and landscape maintenance
· Planting, pruning and weed control
· Lawn care and maintenance
· Irrigation and watering systems
· Operation, care and maintenance of horticultural equipment




· Memorial garden presentation and upkeep
· Following workplace health and safety practices
· Assisting with general horticultural and grounds maintenance duties as required
· Working collaboratively with the team to ensure high standards are maintained across all outdoor areas
To be considered for this position you will require
· A genuine interest in horticulture and outdoor work
· Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to learn
· A positive attitude and solid work ethic
· The ability to work effectively as part of a team
· Physical fitness and the ability to perform outdoor manual labour in varying weather conditions
· A current driver's licence or a commitment to obtaining one
· A commitment to completing a Certificate III in Horticulture
· A desire to build a long-term career within the horticulture industry
