The Royal Hospital for Women has been one of Australia's foremost specialist hospitals for women and babies since its early beginnings as New South Wales first lying-in hospital for women in ****.
As a principal teaching hospital of the University of
New South Wales in the fields of obstetrics, gynaecology and neonatology the Royal has a history of innovation in women's health care services, teaching and research.
The main areas of specialisation include breast care, gynaecology, gynaecological oncology, maternity, maternal-fetal medicine, menopause, newborn intensive care and reproductive medicine.
Each year the Hospital delivers more than 3,000 babies; cares for more than 600 premature babies; performs more than **** surgical procedures and has over **** visits through our
Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS).

The Royal Hospital for Women is situated between the University of

The purpose of the position is to provide medical care and support,



as part of a multi-disciplinary team that is consistent with the level of clinical competency and experience of the appointed trainee.
This includes the assessment and management of patients in the area of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in a complex clinical environment under the supervision of a trainee and the team senior practitioners whilst developing broad skills in clinical decision making and practice.
Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment.
A high standard of academic achievement, clinical practice and performance as relevant to the individual's years of training and a commitment progression through training goals as an SRMO.
Adept ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team.
Adept written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and other members of the health care team.
Adept good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
Evidence of continuing career development and commitment to self-education.
