We are committed to ensure that all our people feel respected and participate safely within a work setting without aggression, sexual harassment, discrimination and racism.Where you'll be working Northern Beaches Hospital - DOSAWhat you'll be doingA nurse in the Day of Surgery (DOSA) ward at Northern Beaches Hospital is responsible for preparing patients for their upcoming procedures, including completing pre-operative assessments, confirming consent, and ensuring all documentation and checklists are accurate.
They provide patient education, coordinate with theatre and anaesthetic teams,
and ensure patients are ready for transfer to the operating suite on time.
The role also involves clinical monitoring, addressing patient concerns, and supporting productive theatre flow in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.You will support a culture of continuous learning, teamwork and innovation, and contributes to service excellence through participation in quality improvement initiatives, education, research and accreditation activities, while maintaining professional competency standards and compliance with NSW Health and NSLHD policies and procedures.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability with a minimum of 12months experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute setting.Need more information?
