POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Aged or Disabled Carer to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will provide personal care support to elderly clients, individuals with disabilities and ensuring their well-being by assisting with daily activities to enhance their quality of life.
You will be responsible for providing personal care, emotional support, and assistance with household tasks.
Your work will make a significant difference in the lives of those you support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Personal Care Assistance: Provide compassionate support with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring clients' dignity and comfort.
Support with Mobility: Assist clients with mobility needs, including transferring, repositioning, and using mobility aids to ensure safety and independence.
Medication Assistance: Aid with medication reminders and ensure clients adhere to prescribed medication schedule, while observing and reporting any health changes.
Daily Living Activities: Support clients with household tasks like meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and shopping, promoting a safe and comfortable living environment and accompanying aged and disabled persons during daily activities.
Companionship & Emotional Support:



Offer companionship and encourage social engagement, ensuring clients feel valued, supported, and emotionally connected.
Care Plan Implementation: Collaborate with care management teams to follow and update personalized care plans, ensuring each client's needs are met with respect and individualized attention.
Documentation & Reporting: Accurately record care provided and report any changes in clients' health, behavior, or environment to supervisors to ensure ongoing quality of care.
Promote Independence: Empower clients to maintain as much independence as possible in their daily activities, fostering self-confidence and autonomy.
Continuous Learning: Participate in training programs and stay updated on best practices in personal care and disability support to provide the highest standard of care.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL REQUIRE:
· AQF Certificate III in Individual support or higher relevant qualification is required.
· 12 months full-time or equivalent part-time or casual basis employment with proven experience is required in Aged / Disability Care Services.
· Valid Australian driver's license is must, along with comprehensive car insurance.
· Applicants must be willing to accept shift allocations at client locations across metropolitan, regional, and outer regional South Australia, depending on operational requirements and client care needs.
Flexibility to travel between client locations is an essential requirement of this position.
· Strong interpersonal skills, a compassionate, patient approach.
· Ability to work independently and as part of team.
· A valid National Police Check, Working with Children Check and other NDIS entry level certificates are required.
· First Aid, Manual Handling and CPR Certificate is required.
