Cyber Security Manager
12-month contract
Must be an Australian Citizen who can obtain Baseline Clearance (Federal Government)
Experience delivering Cyber Security initiatives is mandatory

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Manager for a Federal Government Department to lead the delivery of cyber security initiatives across a complex hybrid technology environment while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Cyber Security Operations team.
The Cyber Security Manager will be responsible for managing technical resources, delivering cyber security uplift programs, implementing new security capabilities, and ensuring the ongoing effectiveness of security controls and services.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: Cyber Security Delivery & Project Management
Lead the planning, prioritisation, and delivery of cyber security projects and uplift programs.
Implement new security capabilities and ensure delivery outcomes align with business and security objectives.
Support the implementation of up-to-date security architectures and controls, including Zero Trust, secure access models, web application protection and cloud security capabilities.
Manage competing priorities across multiple initiatives and operational requirements.
Drive successful project outcomes through effective governance, stakeholder engagement, and risk management.
Security Operations & Incident Management
Support cyber security operations and the continuous improvement of security controls and services.
Contribute to cyber security incident response, major incident management, and lessons learned activities.
Drive remediation and improvement initiatives following security incidents.
Enhance organisational security resilience through proactive operational practices.
Risk,



Threat & Compliance Management
Monitor emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and technology trends.
Identify security risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
Ensure security activities align with organisational risk appetite, compliance obligations, policies, and strategic objectives.
Support adherence to Australian Government cyber security frameworks and standards.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
Coordinate delivery outcomes across internal business units and external partners.
Communicate security risks, priorities, and project outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.
Provide reporting and updates to leadership and governance forums.

About YouTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Proven experience delivering complex cyber security initiatives and uplift programs.
Strong understanding of cyber security operations, incident response, and risk management.
Demonstrated experience working within Australian Government security frameworks, including ISM, PSPF, ASD Essential Eight and broader compliance requirements.
Experience operating across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid technology environments.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and communication skills.
The ability to lead technical teams while driving strategic security outcomes.
