Shotfirers – Tier One Iron Ore Expansion Project Early September Start | FIFO 8:6 / 7:7 Roster | 12-Month Project
We are currently seeking experienced Shotfirers
to join a major Tier One Iron Ore Expansion Project
commencing in early September.
This is an outstanding opportunity to secure long-term work on a high-profile iron ore operation, working within a well-established Drill & Blast team and contributing to a significant expansion project.
The Role Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and productive loading, tie-in, initiation, and firing of production blasts while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Essential Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience
as a Shotfirer within a production mining environment
Current Shotfirer's Licence
Current Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
Dangerous Goods Driver's Licence (highly regarded)
Extensive experience in drill and blast operations
Experience with blast loading, tie-ins, and initiation systems
Strong understanding of explosives handling and storage requirements
Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Current and relevant mining tickets and certifications
Ability to meet site medical and onboarding requirements




Key Responsibilities Safely load and charge blast holes in accordance with blast designs
Conduct tie-ins and prepare blasts for firing
Handle, transport, and store explosives in compliance with legislative and site requirements
Complete blast inspections and quality checks
Maintain accurate blast records and documentation
Follow all site safety, environmental, and compliance procedures
Work collaboratively with Drill & Blast, Mining, and Technical Services teams
