This one is about making sure every drawing is right.
A respected Perth residential builder is looking for an experienced Senior Residential Draftsperson to become the technical backbone of one of their growing divisions.
Working closely with external drafting partners, you'll ensure every set of plans is accurate, buildable and ready for construction before they reach site.
From reviewing working drawings and managing quality control to preparing prestart variations and construction changes, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality documentation across every project.
While you'll initially be the dedicated Draftsperson for this division, you'll be supported by an established drafting team elsewhere in the business.
As the division continues to grow, you'll have the opportunity to help shape its drafting function and progress into a leadership role in the future.
What You'll Be Doing
Reviewing and checking residential working drawings completed by external drafting contractors
Carrying out detailed quality assurance checks before drawings are issued for construction
Making drafting amendments and minor design changes where required
Preparing drawings and documentation for client prestart variations
Producing construction variations and updating drawings throughout the build process
Liaising with external drafting contractors to resolve technical issues
Supporting the estimating, prestart and construction teams with technical queries
Maintaining drafting standards and improving quality control processes
Ensuring all documentation complies with company standards, NCC and relevant building requirements
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Residential Draftsperson within the Perth home building industry
Strong understanding of residential working drawings and construction documentation
Excellent knowledge of the NCC, R-Codes and local authority requirements
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify drawing discrepancies
Experience managing prestart variations and construction changes
Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with both internal teams and external drafting contractors
Experience using ArchiCAD or similar residential drafting software
A proactive mindset with the ability to work autonomously
