The SportWest Project Officer is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of Best on Road Live.
The position will also support the delivery of the broader Best on Road program suite and contribute to other Strategic Projects and Capability areas, including Industry Workforce Capability, Innovation & Research, and Women of Sport.
As part of a small and team-oriented team, the role requires flexibility, initiative and a willingness to contribute across multiple projects and organisational priorities, including outside of core responsibilities.
Best on Road is SportWest's road safety culture & behaviour change through sport program, funded by the Road Safety Commission.
Best on Road Live is one initiative of this program, it is a community-based road safety initiative delivered at sporting events across Western Australia.
The Project Officer will lead the successful execution of live activations, ensuring high-quality engagement with participants, stakeholders and communities.
This will include activating events that take place when people play sport, including outside of traditional business hours.
The position will also play a role in industry engagement with the other initiatives across the Best on Road project.




Best on Road has a mandate to deliver across regional Western Australia, as well as across Perth, and as such the role will require regional travel from time to time.
Outside of Best on Road, the role will assist with the delivery of other Strategic Projects & Capability initiatives, and provide support, as part of the SportWest team, to other large scale SportWest initiatives.
The successful person/s will have an outgoing personality, as well as being reliable and professional.
Road safety education, or behaviour change experience, is not necessary to be successful in this role, and people new to this space should not be discouraged from applying.
This position is a fixed-term contract role, in line with Government funding for the Best on Road program, until 30 June ****.
Extension beyond this term is possible, pending additional funding.
