About the role
In this full-time role as Youth Employment Coach, you'll play a key role in supporting young Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander people aged ******* across the Barwon region to move into employment and education.
Working from the Geelong office, you'll do this by delivering personalised support, building solid community and employer relationships and promoting cultural safety and connection in all aspects of your work.
You will be responsible to:
Provide tailored career and education coaching to Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander young people
Deliver strengths-based, person-centred case management
Identify and address work and non-work barriers by linking participants with relevant community supports
Collaborate with employers to create meaningful and culturally safe employment opportunities
Support participants to succeed in work or study through job search, training, apprenticeships and internships
Deliver post-placement support to sustain employment outcomes
Maintain accurate records and meet performance targets aligned to program guidelines
This is a hands-on role with a mix of site-based and outreach activity across the Barwon region.
This is an Aboriginal Identified position and is only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.

About the team
Reporting to the Site Manager, you'll be part of our Transition to Work (TtW) program, a passionate, purpose-led team supporting young people aged ***** who are at risk of long-term unemployment across North-West Melbourne and the Barwon region.
We work collaboratively across teams, engaging with employers and community services, building strong local partnerships and supporting each other to improve lives through dignity and choice.
About you
You are someone with a passion for walking alongside young people and helping them take steps toward a better future.
You understand the importance of cultural identity,



community connection and the impact of employment on a young person's life.
You will have:
Lived experience working with Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander young people
A Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work, Community Services or a related field – or a willingness to work towards this within 12 months
Confidence working to targets and a passion for creating real opportunities
Experience engaging and mentoring young people, ideally in employment, education or community settings
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work flexibly across outreach locations
A valid Driver's Licence
