About the role
CEA Technologies Pty Limited is seeking a Sustainment Manager to join our team in Canberra, ACT.
This is a full-time position that plays a critical strategic role in ensuring the long-term operational effectiveness and reliability of our defence and government product lifecycle.
As Sustainment Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of our systems and services, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our defence sector clients.
This role is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence and supporting our clients' mission critical operations.
Key responsibilities
Developing and implementing comprehensive sustainment strategies and plans to ensure optimal system performance and availability
Managing sustainment budgets and resources, ensuring cost-effectiveness whilst maintaining service quality standards
Overseeing maintenance schedules, system upgrades and lifecycle management activities for assigned programmes and systems
Coordinating with internal teams, stakeholders and government and defence clients to identify support requirements and service improvements
Monitoring system performance metrics and reliability data, reporting on key indicators to senior management
Managing spare parts inventory, logistics and supply chain activities to support operational continuity
Leading incident response and problem resolution activities, ensuring timely restoration of services
Developing and delivering technical documentation,



training materials and support procedures for sustainment activities
Ensuring compliance with government and defence sector regulations, security protocols and quality standards
Building and maintaining strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal technical teams
What we're looking for
Demonstrated experience in sustainment, maintenance or support management roles, ideally within the defence, government or technology sectors
Strong project and programme management capabilities, with proven experience managing budgets and resources
In-depth knowledge of lifecycle management, maintenance planning and operational support processes
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with government clients, senior management and technical teams
Experience managing teams and coordinating cross-functional activities
Knowledge of defence and government sector procurement, compliance and security requirements
Relevant qualifications in engineering, project management, business administration or related field (or equivalent qualified experience)
Security clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance
Familiarity with maintenance management systems and sustainment methodologies.
