Responsibilities: Applying a deeper understanding of Engineering principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems and efficient project execution.
Become involved in coordinated rail shutdowns, signalling verification, and end to end delivery of systems.
Prepare technical reports, planning and verification activities.
Liaise with supervisors and teams to ensure safety compliance and the creation of a safe working environment.
Ensure safety risks are mitigated by conducting field leadership activities.
Participate in safety meetings and assigned projects, reviewing incidents and implementing change.
Plan and execute maintenance projects taking into account safety, environmental, cost, quality & engineering considerations.
Undertake project management activities including scoping, budgets, documentation for track & civil assets.
Lead planning activities within assistance from internal stakeholders.
Ensure risk assessment techniques are adopted during the planning and execution process.
Develop and review maintenance and engineering standards, procedures, and work instructions.
Provide technical advice to maintenance personnel including maintenance partners.
Troubleshoot issues and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage suppliers,



maintenance partners and third party contractors as required as per contractual requirements.
Completion of Quality Assurance processes - ITP's, method statements, site records, audits & other project documentation Receive mentoring and support from Senior Engineers and Managers in the team.
Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
Minimum 5-10 years' experience in railway track engineering across maintenance, renewal, investigation, standards development, or technical governance functions.
Demonstrated experience leading engineers or multidisciplinary technical work in an operational rail setting.
Strong working knowledge of track engineering principles, track geometry, rail-wheel interface impacts, track materials, formation and drainage interfaces, and rail asset failure mechanisms.
Demonstrated experience in incident investigation, engineering risk assessment and technical report writing.
Sound knowledge of Arc or comparable Australian rail standards, relevant Australian Standards, and industry practice.
Comprehensive knowledge of interface requirements with Asset, Civil & Structures, Signal, Communications and Operations.
Proficiency in relevant software applications for track design and analysis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making processes.
Current C Class driver's licence.
MS suite experience essential.
