Our Parent Pathways contract assists parents with young children to identify their goals and facilitate activities that help them achieve success in their personal and skilled lives.
Join our team as a Senior Mentor and make a meaningful impact in the lives of families, while coaching a small team to do the same.
About You
As a Senior Mentor, you will attract, engage and mentor a caseload of parents and carers with young children, guiding them through our Parent Pathways pre-employment program.
You will also coach a small team of Mentors, acting as the go-to person for complex participant matters and helping the team hit its targets.
We embrace the benefits of lived experience in this type of program, so we encourage applications from people with experience in raising children or being a regular caregiver.
Prior experience in a similar role, mentoring or coaching others, and embodying empathy, resilience and non-judgment will be highly regarded.
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, a bright personality, knowledge of the local area, and strong organisational skills.
This is a KPI driven role, and you will bring the self-motivation to drive caseload growth alongside your team while keeping sight of the individual support each participant needs.
This position requires a minimum Diploma level qualification in Social Work, and a current driver's licence.
You can expect to spend time on the road delivering services in Belconnen and across the Capital region and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
Engage and mentor participants, leveraging your expertise in relationship building
Facilitate activities aligned with participants' goals to support their journey
Act as the first point of escalation for complex participant matters
Navigate challenges including language, domestic violence, trauma, mental health, disability, parenting/child-care and cultural background
Connect participants with funding, community resources and support networks
Maintain accurate case management records across your own caseload and support the team to do the same
Utilise IT systems effectively with strong administrative skills
Promote Parent Pathways and Sureway's programs at events and fairs, driving caseload growth
Coach and develop a small team of Mentors, sharing knowledge to enhance program delivery and participant outcomes
Manage and motivate the team on a day-to-day basis, supporting them to meet KPIs
