Meals on Wheels SA is seeking a Relief Branch Coordinator to provide operational support across our metropolitan and regional branch network.
About the Role
As a Relief Branch Coordinator, you will provide leave coverage and operational support for Branch Coordinators across South Australia.
While you will have designated base branches, you will also travel to metropolitan and regional branches as required to ensure continuity of service during periods of annual leave, planned absences and operational needs.
This diverse and rewarding role offers the opportunity to work alongside dedicated volunteers, support different branch teams and help ensure our customers continue receiving nutritious meals and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide relief for Branch Coordinators during annual leave, planned leave and other absences.
Support the day-to-day operations of allocated base branches.
Travel to metropolitan and regional branches as required to maintain service delivery.
Coordinate daily meal production, preparation, storage and delivery.
Supervise, support and mentor volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
Ensure compliance with Meals on Wheels SA policies, procedures and food safety requirements.
Maintain food safety records and quality assurance documentation.
Train volunteers in food safety,



kitchen equipment and Standard Operating Procedures.
Complete branch administration, reporting and ordering requirements.
Work closely with Branch Support Officers and the Operations Team to ensure branches operate efficiently.
About You
The successful applicant will:
Be flexible, adaptable and enjoy working in different branch environments.
Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Be confident leading and supporting volunteer teams.
Possess strong organisational and time management skills.
Be able to prioritise competing demands and work independently.
Have experience in hospitality, food services, community services or volunteer coordination (desirable).
Hold a current driver's licence and be willing to travel throughout metropolitan and regional South Australia, including occasional overnight stays where required.
