About the role
As our Business Intelligence Support Analyst, you will play an important role in supporting Lower Murray Water's business intelligence, reporting and data analytics functions.
Working within the Technology department and reporting to the Team Leader Business Technology, you will be the first point of contact for business intelligence support, assisting users with reporting, dashboards and data-related enquiries.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to resolve technical issues, support data-driven decision-making and maintain the integrity and accessibility of business intelligence systems.

What You Will Be Doing:
Providing first-level support for business intelligence and reporting systems, including Power BI dashboards and reports.
Investigating and resolving reporting, dashboard and data quality issues, escalating where required.
Responding to ad-hoc data requests and extracting information using SQL queries to support business operations.
Maintaining business intelligence documentation, data dictionaries and user access controls.
Designing, developing and enhancing SQL queries, reports and dashboards to support business decisions.
Assisting with improvements to existing reports and dashboard layouts to enhance usability and user experience.
Supporting the delivery of technology projects through planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting activities.
Assisting with change management processes by ensuring environments, data integrity and security controls are appropriately managed and documented.
Developing user guides, training materials and supporting end-user adoption of current processes and systems.




Providing back-up support to the IT Service Desk during periods of leave and peak operational demand.
About you:
We are looking for someone who brings a combination of technical skills, analytical capability and a customer-focused approach.
You may have:
A recognised tertiary qualification in technology, business information systems or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Experience as a business intelligence analyst, reporting analyst or in a similar technology-focused role.
Strong knowledge of SQL and database structures.
Understanding of data modelling, schema design, ETL processes and API management.
Experience developing or supporting reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
Experience working within project or change management environments.
You'll also demonstrate:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 applications and basic network troubleshooting.
The ability to remain professional and solutions-focused when managing competing priorities and challenging situations.
