The Company is seeking a Chairperson to join its independent statutory authority.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the conduct of elections and referendums, providing information and advice to a wide range of stakeholders, and playing a key role in electoral matters such as boundary redistribution and reviewing appeals.
This part-time role involves a limited number of in-person sessions per year, with the flexibility to manage out-of-session work remotely.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior leadership, particularly in areas such as electoral systems management, public administration, or other relevant fields.
Applicants for the Chairperson position at the company must meet specific eligibility criteria.
Individuals who have been a member of the Legislative Assembly, the Parliament of the Commonwealth,
or the legislature of a
State or another Territory in the past 10 years, or who have been a member of a political party in the last 5 years, are not eligible for appointment.
The role requires a candidate with demonstrable high-level senior leadership experience, and the ability to ensure the integrity and independence of the electoral process.
The Chairperson will work closely with the Electoral Commissioner and a Commission
Member, and will be supported by the company's electoral body.
