The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP) is looking to fill an APS 6 Senior HR Advisor and an APS 5 HR Advisor role in the Employee Relations (ER) team within People Branch.
These roles provide timely, accessible guidance to managers, employees and various stakeholders across the agency enabling effective resolution of employment related matters and reducing workplace issues.
As an APS 5 HR Advisor you will:
deliver clear, policy aligned advice, prepare written correspondence, reports, employee communications and HR documentation; and
respond to HR enquiries professionally and provide practical guidance on routine HR matters.
As an APS 6 Senior HR Advisor, you will:
mentor or provide guidance to team members and contribute positively to team culture and capability development;
undertake leadership responsibilities, including coordinating workflows and supporting team management activities; and
partner with leaders, and helping create positive outcomes for our team members.

APS 5 HR Advisor - Ongoing and Non-ongoing (up to 12 months) *Initial contract as non-ongoing with the potential for ongoing engagement subject to operational needs.
APS 6 Senior HR Advisor - Ongoing and Non-ongoing (up to 12 months).
The key duties of the position include:APS5 HR Advisor
Provide accurate and timely HR advice on the CDPP Enterprise Agreement, APS employment legislation, policies and HR procedures;
Assist in interpreting and applying relevant legislation and frameworks including the Public Service Act ****, Fair Work Act ****, the CDPP Enterprise Agreement and CDPP and APS policies;
Prepare written correspondence, reports, employee communications and HR documentation;
Respond to HR enquiries professionally and provide practical guidance on routine HR matters;
Build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders across the CDPP;
Assist with payroll-related enquiries and support the administration of pay and conditions;
Work with the CDPP's Shared Services Payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee salaries, employment conditions and entitlements.
Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with legislative and policy requirements;
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and continuous improvement activities with the Employee Relations team; and
Work collaboratively within the team to achieve business outcomes and service delivery objectives.
APS6 Senior HR Advisor
Provide accurate and timely advice on the CDPP Enterprise Agreement, APS employment legislation, policies, and HR procedures;
Interpret and apply relevant legislation and frameworks including the Public Service Act ****, Fair Work Act ****, the CDPP Enterprise Agreement and CDPP and APS policies;
Deliver high-quality verbal and written HR advice to manager and employees across a range of HR matters;
Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships through responsive, professional and customer-focused service delivery;
Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, guidance materials, and process improvements;
Work with the CDPP's Shared Services Payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee salaries, employment conditions and entitlements.
Assist with payroll-related enquiries and ensure accurate interpretation of employment conditions and entitlements;
Prepare high-quality written documentation including briefs, correspondence, reports and HR recommendations;
Mentor or provide guidance to team members and contribute positively to team culture and capability development;
Undertake leadership responsibilities, including coordinating workflows and supporting team management activities; and
Support recruitment and onboarding activities as required.
Eligibility
All employees at the CDPP are required to obtain and maintain satisfactory police check and a Baseline security clearance (as a minimum).
