We have been engaged to find experienced Database Developers, Database Administrators and Data Engineers for multiple opportunities supporting a major Australian Government ICT capability.
These roles support complex, highly integrated ICT environments where secure, reliable and high-performing data platforms underpin critical operational capability.
Working alongside software developers, systems engineers, architects and integration specialists, you will help design, build, optimise and sustain enterprise data services that enable informed decision-making and resilient technology outcomes.

What you'll be doing Depending on your background and specialisation, your responsibilities may include:
designing, developing and maintaining enterprise database solutions developing backend services that enable secure application integration and data exchange creating logical and physical data models to support evolving business and technical requirements optimising database performance through indexing, query tuning and capacity planning managing database platforms to ensure availability, resilience and recoverability implementing backup, recovery and disaster recovery strategies supporting secure data storage, access controls and database hardening collaborating with integration engineers to enable reliable movement of data across enterprise systems supporting deployment, testing and release activities across development, test and production environments contributing to configuration management, technical documentation and engineering governance investigating complex data-related issues and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.




What we're looking for We're seeking professionals who understand that enterprise databases are more than repositories of information – they're critical components of operational capability that demand disciplined engineering, careful optimisation and robust governance.
You will likely have experience delivering database solutions within Defence, Federal Government, financial services, critical infrastructure or other enterprise environments where performance, security and reliability are paramount.Experience across several of the following will be highly regarded:
Database Administration Database Development Backend Development Data Engineering Oracle Database Microsoft SQL Server PostgreSQL SQL optimisation and query tuning Database replication and high availability Backup and recovery planning Data modelling and schema design REST APIs and backend integration ETL and data migration Performance monitoring and capacity management Secure database design DevOps practices Azure DevOps, Git, Jira or Confluence Linux and Windows Server environments Experience supporting secure ICT environments or large-scale enterprise applications will be viewed favourably.The person we're seeking You're analytical, detail-oriented and enjoy solving problems at the intersection of data, applications and infrastructure.
