Assistant Operations Manager – Food Manufacturing
We are a proudly South Australian-owned frozen food manufacturer located inRoyal Park.
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and hands-onAssistant Operations Managerto support our kitchen and production operations on a full-time basis.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will help coordinate people, production, inventory, food safety and daily factory activities to ensure operations run safely, efficiently and on schedule.
About the Role
This position is ideal for someone with solid food manufacturing or FMCG experience who is ready to take on greater operational and leadership responsibilities.
You will assist with managing daily production schedules, coordinating staff and workflow, monitoring inventory and supporting food safety and quality systems.
This is ahands-on role, and you will be expected to actively support the team on the factory floor when required.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Operations Manager with the day-to-day running of kitchen and production operations
• Coordinate daily production schedules, priorities, staffing and workflow to meet production targets
• Supervise food preparation, manufacturing, packing and cleaning activities in accordance with GMP and company procedures
• Monitor production efficiency and identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity and reduce waste
• Coordinate dispatch and logistics activities to ensure customer orders are prepared accurately and delivered on time
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials, packaging and finished goods to maintain supply continuity
• Assist with purchasing, stock control and raw material planning




• Coordinate and communicate effectively between kitchen, production, warehouse, dispatch and management teams
• Maintain and update HACCP documentation, production records, food safety forms and compliance records
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, quality and workplace procedures are consistently followed
• Conduct basic equipment checks and troubleshooting and coordinate maintenance requirements where necessary
• Assist with staff training, task allocation and day-to-day supervision of production employees
• Maintain accurate operational records and complete general data entry and reporting
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across production, quality, safety and operational efficiency
What We're Looking For
• Minimum3years' experiencein food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar production environment
• Previous experience in a supervisory, team leader or operational support role is highly regarded
• Valuable understanding ofHACCP, GMP and food safety procedures
• Strong organisational, communication and time-management skills
• Ability to coordinate people and priorities in a quick-paced manufacturing workplace
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to day-to-day operational issues
• Basic understanding of food manufacturing equipment and machinery
• Confident computer skills, including data entry and record management
• A proactive, reliable and hands-on approach to work
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

This is afull-time, hands-on position based at our Royal Park manufacturing facility.
