Control Systems Engineer
Randstad are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Control Systems Engineer to join our client's team.
You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation and control systems for their mining processing operations, driving efficiency, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Completion of control systems upgrade projects for current and existing mining infrastructure
Effectively maintain Process Control System (PCS) hardware and software, including PLC code design and architecture
Diagnose and resolve complex control system network, PLC, and SCADA issues to minimize operational downtime
Conduct pre-deployment testing (FAT/SAT) and manage site commissioning and handover to the operations team
Work with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical and process engineers, to ensure seamless integration of control philosophies
Develop and review functional design specifications and safe work procedures
Essential Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Control, or Mechatronic Engineering
Extensive, hands-on experience with Schneider PLC platforms is required
A minimum of 5 years of experience within a heavy industrial environment, ideally mineral processing




Proficiency in CITECT SCADA programming and development
Sound understanding of industrial communication networks
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on building and maintaining relationships
Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems
Self motivated with a commitment to safety
Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role and preference will be given to those with mining experience.
